Chickaloon is a census-designated place (CDP) in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska, United States. It is part of the Anchorage, Alaska Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of 2004 , the population of the CDP is 194. Chickaloon is located at 61°47′38″N, 148°28′58″W (61.793994, -148.482733)[US Gazetteer files: 2000 and 1990. United States Census Bureau (2005-05-03). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 80.2 square miles (207.8 km²), of which, 79.4 square miles (205.7 km²) of it is land and 0.8 square miles (2.2 km²) of it (1.05%) is water.
